Five Dead After Florida Nursing Home Goes Without Air Conditioning

Five people are dead and 115 have been evacuated from the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills, a nursing home in Hollywood, Fla., on Wednesday according to the city’s police chief, Tom Sanchez. Jean Linder, a cook at the facility, said the nursing home had power but no air conditioning in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, which hit the region over the weekend.

A sign at the facility said it is owned by Larkin Community Hospital.
